I dont have much in terms of hist...Thanks, Jaeckel! I dont have much in terms of historical reference. I do own Embletons books on 15th century costume and some other works, mostly Osprey titles. As far as I know most padded jacks were simply made of layers of unbleached/uncoloured linen, that would have looked kind of beige probably, getting darker the more it became used.
