New Project and Ebay Sale

Lets see, what do we have here:

  • Plastic Agincourt mounted knights and infantry
  • Hand Gunners
  • Peasants armed with flails
  • a Wagon
  • Lots a plastic spare parts from WOTR boxes, esp. kettle hats (!)
Guess whats coming... ;-)

Unfortunately, space in my miniature cabinet has become very limited. The government (my wife) passed a veto bill with regard to the purchase of a second cabinet :-(

As a consequence, some miniatures have to go, this time some Italian Wars/Rennaissance minis. Listed on Ebay:

WIP: More Swiss

Experimenting a bit with Simons Swiss castings of Steelfist origin (Simon, Oliver - I hope you dont mind me posting the link here - Swiss Castings)

As you can see the  Steelfist Swiss match the Perry late medieval figures very well. In the first picture you see a Perry WOTR metal knight with a Swiss head, a Swiss figure with a Perry plastic head and a Swiss figure "out of the box". The halberds are esp. nice and come gladly a bit longer than the short Perry polearms.

The second picture shows two Perry plastic figures with Steelfist Swiss arms attached. The arms have small splints and can easily be attached to the plastic bodies using a small drill and some superglue.

All in all a very good set and I am certainly hoping for more Perry late medieval "mods"! ;-)

Ashigaru Bannermen

Perry figures carrying Steelfist brass nobori.

I am thinking about switching to 1/72 samurai for future projects, having discovered the beautiful Zvezda samurai recently. The right figure is actually a metal teppo ashigaru, available here Hagen Miniatures Still i have to find a faster way of panting these small scale minis...

Mounted Renaissance Knights Kickstarter

Just to show you what the postman delivered yesterday - Knights from Steelfist Miniatures from their recent Renaissance Knights Kickstarter campaign. Beautiful figures simply, they come with loads of different heads and plumes options. The lances and hands are casted separately as well - that allows you to use the Perry plastic weapons hands from their late medieval sprues (check out the photos below - I put a Perry sword and a mace to good use).

The Steelfist knights are about the same size as Foundry and Perry knights, the Steelfist horses are slightly larger than the Perry and Foundry horses.

Armoured Knights - Kickstarter Delivery

As a huge fan of all things late medieval I couldnt resist the temptation of taking part in the crowdfunding campaign by Oliver James of Steelfist fame (you know, samurais and more):

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/536771983/armoured-knights/description

Now, delivery was today and I am really happy with the miniatures. As you can see, these are some beautifully sculpted early 16th century foot knights/officers in Maximilian armour, some sporting very special head gear - the pride of every Landsknecht force. (Sorry for the poor photos btw, my camera batteries gave up).

Though slightly bigger than average (but not as big as his samurai) the minis will go well among my Pro Gloria and Foundry landsknechts - from left to right: Foundry, Pro Gloria, Steelfist, Pro Gloria, Steefist.
